FloraPlot is free to use for personal garden planning.
The app, its code and design are copyright John Kiely.
Open data sources (climate, soil, plants) remain under their own licences.
You may not copy, clone or redistribute the app or its code.
Plant recommendations are a guide only — always verify before planting.

FloraPlot — including its source code, user interface design, plant database, recommendation algorithms, shadow calculation engine, zone mapping system, and all associated written content — is the intellectual property of John Kiely and is protected by copyright law in Ireland, the United Kingdom, and internationally under the Berne Convention.

FloraPlot is available as a native iOS app on the App Store and as a web app (PWA) at floraplot.app. Both are covered by these terms.

The FloraPlot name, wordmark and associated branding are registered trademarks of John Kiely (UK trademark registration no. UK00004398387).

FloraPlot uses third-party open data sources which remain under their own licences. Your use of the app constitutes acceptance of these licences where applicable.

5. Disclaimer of warranties

FloraPlot is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. While we take care to ensure the accuracy of plant recommendations, climate data and soil information, we make no guarantee that:

Always verify plant suitability with a qualified horticulturalist or nursery before planting, particularly for sensitive species or large-scale planting.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, John Kiely shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of FloraPlot, including but not limited to loss of data, plant losses, or decisions made based on app recommendations.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

7. In-app purchases

FloraPlot Premium is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase processed by Apple via StoreKit. The launch price is £2.99. It unlocks additional features within the iOS app.

8. iCloud backup

On iOS, your garden data is included in standard iCloud Backups automatically. If you set up a new iPhone from an iCloud Backup, your gardens, zones, plants and notes will be restored. This requires iCloud Backup to be enabled in iOS Settings. FloraPlot does not independently back up your data to any external server.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts, without prejudice to your rights as a consumer under the law of your country of residence.

If you are a consumer in the European Union or United Kingdom, you also benefit from any mandatory protective provisions of the law of your country of residence.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Significant changes will be notified through the app.
